JUPITER, Fla.- With two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth inning of Thursday’s season opening game at Roger Dean Stadium, Palm Beach Atlantic University senior catcher Travis Murray delivered a walk-off single to lift the Sailfish to a 3-2 win over Lynn University. The situation and outcome seemed fitting as Palm Beach Atlantic head coach Gary Carter, who delivered in a similar situation in the 1986 World Series, was honored before the game with a standing ovation from the crowd.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.- After a lockdown defensive performance in the opening half of Wednesday evening’s matchup with Barry University, the Palm Beach Atlantic men’s squad fell victim to a big comeback effort by the Bucs in the second stanza as they earned a 60-57 win to split the season series. Palm Beach Atlantic led by as many as 14 points in the second-half before the Bucs stormed back for the win.

Meeting for the third time this season, the Bucs built on a 12-point halftime lead and concluded their night’s work with a 19-point win over PBA to improve to 13-6 on the season.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Opening day for the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team proved to be a positive outcome as the Sailfish downed No. 18-ranked Florida Tech by a score of 6-3. The two NCAA South Region rivals squared off on Wednesday at Gaines Park with the Fish taking two of three doubles matches and after falling at the top two singles spots the Blue and White would knock off the Panthers in spots 3-6.

ORLANDO, Fla.- Although the final score may not have indicated as much the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s basketball team more than held their own on Monday evening as they challenged themselves against the likes of NCAA Division I, University of Central Florida. Freshman Marcus Hardy and junior Dante Valentine both put together big individual performances to be competitive with the Golden Knights who coughed up a big second-half lead to finish with an 84-69 victory over PBA.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University athletic department will host a spring break sports camp for the week of March 19-23, 2012. The camp will be offered to children ages 5-14 for only $99.00 per child for the week. The camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-3:30 pm with extended care offered for a small additional fee.
