Compliance

Palm Beach Atlantic University currently holds corresponding membership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In the Summer of 2007, PBA became a full-functioning member in the NCAA Division II. Accordingly, the Department of Athletics at Palm Beach Atlantic University endeavors to comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations.

The NCAA Compliance general principle surrounds both honesty and sportsmanship. Individuals employed by (or associated with) a member institution to administer, conduct or coach intercollegiate athletics, and all participating student-athletes, shall deport themselves with honesty and sportsmanship at all times so that intercollegiate athletics as a whole, their institutions and they, as individuals, shall represent the honor and dignity of fair play and the generally recognized high standards associated with wholesome competitive sports. We at Palm Beach Atlantic University choose to hold ourselves to a high standard involving compliance with our administrators, coaches, student-athletes, as well as any future student-athletes.

INFORMATION FOR CURRENT STUDENT-ATHLETES

SICKLE CELL EDUCATION

Although all 50 states screen for the sickle cell trait at birth, most people are unaware of their status. The Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletic Department recommends every student-athlete, including those who wish to try-out, confirm their sickle cell trait status prior to participating in intercollegiate athletics.
